Four products, two ways to connect
Tecmony has four products on the WhatsApp side: WaSend, WADesk, WASMS and WAGEM. All of them run inside the same app, but they answer different questions. Who sends the message? How many people receive it? Where does the record live once the conversation is over?
This page exists to help you pick the right one. We start with the infrastructure difference, because it decides most of the choice. Then we put the four products side by side and map common needs to a product in a table.

Infrastructure
Choose the infrastructure first: official API or linked device?
There are two ways for a business to connect to WhatsApp. Both have their place; which one fits you depends on your tolerance for paperwork, your sending volume and how much official visibility you expect.
Official WhatsApp Business API
Meta verifies your number and opens a business account. Every message template you intend to send goes through template approval first, and Meta’s conversation-based fees are billed separately.
In return you get a verified business profile, high sending volume and official delivery reports. Where campaigns and notifications reach serious scale, this is the route to take.
- Product: WaSend
- The price: paperwork, template approval, Meta fees
Linked device (QR) route
An existing WhatsApp number is connected to the panel through Settings > Linked devices on the phone. No Meta approval, no paperwork; setup is measured in minutes.
The trade-off is just as clear: on this route WhatsApp may restrict or close the number under its own policies. Our service agreement says so in clause 7. Bulk and unsolicited sending raises that risk considerably.
- Products: WADesk, WASMS, WAGEM
- The price: risk of the number being closed, no verification badge
| Official API (WaSend) | Linked device (WADesk · WASMS · WAGEM) | |
|---|---|---|
| Connection | Meta-verified business account | Linked devices step in the phone’s WhatsApp (QR) |
| Approval and paperwork | Business verification plus Meta approval for every template | None |
| Time to go live | Depends on Meta’s review; no timeline can be promised | Minutes; WADesk is live within 15 minutes |
| Visible identity | Verified business profile | The number’s own WhatsApp profile; no Meta verification badge |
| Free-form messages | Only if the customer wrote within the last 24 hours; otherwise approved templates only | No window rule; bulk and unsolicited sending raises the risk of closure |
| Number risk | Meta quality rating and daily tier limits | WhatsApp may restrict or close the number (agreement clause 7) |
| Extra cost | Meta conversation fees billed on usage | No Meta fees |
| Best for | Brands with high campaign and notification volume that want an official identity | Teams that need to start fast, integrations and archiving |
Products
The four products at a glance
Same channel, four separate jobs. Each card says what the product does, who it fits and the one thing that sets it apart.
WaSend
Gets templates approved by Meta, sends an approved template to your contact list as a campaign, and handles the replies in an inbox inside the same panel. Campaigns, contacts, templates and delivery reports in one place.
- Infrastructure: official WhatsApp Business API
- Who it is for: brands with high campaign and notification volume that want a verified identity
WADesk
Turns the company’s WhatsApp numbers into a multi-user customer desk. Several agents connect to one number, customers are assigned to agents, and a supervisor sees the traffic and steps in when needed.
- Infrastructure: linked device (QR)
- Who it is for: field sales, retail, dealer networks and customer service teams
WASMS
An SMS service that runs over WhatsApp. It is an API, not a panel: your own application, CRM or campaign system connects to the endpoint and sends text, images, documents, audio, locations or contact cards.
- Infrastructure: linked device (QR)
- Who it is for: teams that trigger notifications, verification and document delivery from their own software
WAGEM
Collects conversations carried on company-owned lines into a central archive, with the employee’s explicit consent. Nothing is sent through it; it only records and displays. Private numbers the employee declares in advance are never recorded.
- Infrastructure: linked device (QR), read-only
- Who it is for: organisations that need corporate memory, evidence in disputes and auditable records
Choosing
Which one is right for you?
In one sentence: with WaSend you write to many people, with WADesk your team answers the people who write to you, with WASMS your software does the writing, and WAGEM never writes at all, it only records. Find your need below.
| Your need | Product | Infrastructure |
|---|---|---|
| Send an approved template to tens of thousands of people and answer the replies | WaSend | Official API |
| Appear under a verified business profile with official delivery reports | WaSend | Official API |
| Send order, shipping and appointment notifications through the official channel | WaSend | Official API |
| Distribute customers who write to one number across several agents | WADesk | Linked device |
| Bring conversations that live on agents’ own phones into the company’s view | WADesk | Linked device |
| Start within minutes, without paperwork or an approval process | WADesk | Linked device |
| Trigger notifications from your own CRM or application through an API | WASMS | Linked device |
| Deliver invoices, receipts or contracts straight from your software | WASMS | Linked device |
| Keep a record of conversations without interfering in them | WAGEM | Linked device |
| Keep the customer history with the company when an employee leaves | WAGEM | Linked device |
A common combination: run outbound campaigns with WaSend, handle inbound customer traffic in WADesk, leave system-triggered notifications to WASMS, and keep the corporate record of every conversation in WAGEM. We work out the right mix with you.
Data protection and rules
What applies to all four products
Five points every organisation should know regardless of which product it picks. They are written in our service agreement and in WhatsApp’s business rules; we are only restating them in plain language.
- Consent is your responsibility. To start a message to someone, that person must have given prior consent that explicitly names your business. How consent is collected, and whether it complies with the law, is the customer’s responsibility.
- Sensitive data does not travel on this channel. Payment card numbers, financial account details and national ID numbers must not be shared, nor requested from customers.
- Discretion rests with WhatsApp LLC. Tecmony facilitates WhatsApp processes; decisions on service continuity and on restrictions applied to a number belong to WhatsApp.
- The linked-device route carries a number risk. With WADesk, WASMS and WAGEM, WhatsApp may restrict or close the number under its own policies. The customer chooses the service knowing this risk.
- With WAGEM the organisation is the data controller and Tecmony the processor. Deciding which lines are archived, informing employees and running the consent process is the organisation’s job; Tecmony makes it technically enforceable.
Frequently asked
Questions people ask before deciding
For a question that is not here, write to us; we will add the answer here too.
Which of the four products is right for us?
Start with the infrastructure. If you will send an approved template to a large audience under a verified business profile, take the official WhatsApp Business API route: WaSend. If you will work with an existing number, continue on the linked-device route: WADesk when several agents share one number, WASMS when your own software triggers the sending, WAGEM when nothing is sent and only a record is kept.
Which product needs a WhatsApp Business account?
Only WaSend. It runs on the official WhatsApp Business API: Meta verifies your number and opens your business account, and that step involves paperwork and approval. WADesk, WASMS and WAGEM use the linked-device (QR) route; the number is connected through the Linked devices step on the phone, with no Meta approval.
How long does Meta approval take?
That depends on Meta’s review. Because the decision sits with Meta, Tecmony cannot commit to a timeline. There are two separate approvals: verification of the business account and template approval for every message you intend to send. If you want to start without waiting, the linked-device products skip this step entirely.
Can our number be closed on the linked-device route?
Yes, that possibility exists, and clause 7 of our service agreement says so plainly: in a product that works by linking a device to a WhatsApp account, WhatsApp may restrict or close the number under its own policies. Bulk and unsolicited sending raises that risk considerably. On the official API the risk works differently: Meta applies daily tier limits based on your quality rating.
Can we use our existing number?
Yes, though the condition depends on the product. On the linked-device route an ordinary line your organisation already holds will do; in WADesk an operation already running on GSM numbers is registered as it is, and users may keep writing from their phones. With WaSend the number must not already be linked to another WhatsApp account, and Meta verifies it.
Is there a daily sending limit?
On the official API, that is WaSend, yes, and Meta sets it: new business accounts start at 1,000 unique recipients per day and the tier rises with quality rating; a falling rating can shrink it. You can also exchange free-form text with a customer only if they wrote to you within the last 24 hours; after the window closes, contact is re-established only with an approved template. The linked-device route publishes no numeric limit, but heavy bulk sending can get the number closed.
